For a long time, the only viable fuels for Mazda cars were gasoline or diesel. Now there are hybrids and electric vehicles that can be plugged in and recharged, and there are even some green cars that are powered by hydrogen. At Tumminia Mazda, we're always excited to see the auto industry come up with innovations that are capable of improving our favorite vehicles, which is why we are happy to hear Mazda Motor Corporation has just joined in on a new research effort that could lead to the development of greener fuel options for cars, trucks, and SUVs.

Partnership with the Research Association

Multiple automakers have partnered with the Research Association of Biomass Innovation for Next Generation Automobile Fuels. As the name implies, these researchers are hard at work trying to make other fuel sources that could be used by greener cars.

Their efforts primarily focus on biomass, an organic matter that can be used as fuel. They are also looking at ways to more efficiently produce bioethanol fuel that automobiles could use. They may also find ways to use the carbon dioxide that is a byproduct of bioethanol fuel production.

This could result in new fuels for Mazda vehicles and the development of greener production strategies. Any steps that can be taken toward carbon neutrality can make a big difference and result in an auto industry that's much cleaner and less likely to contribute to pollution and climate change.
